Course objectives:

The course offers an integration of the current notions of Cell Biology and Molecular Biology, which will provide students with the tools they need to get to know and describe organically: 

  • principles underlying the use of monoclonal antibodies I the clinic;  
  • principles, applications, and challenges of enzyme replacement therapies
  • the theoretical principles and clinical applications of RNA interference;  
  • the basic principles for the construction of structures nano technological applied to molecular therapy.
  • The principles, applications, and challenges involved in molecular approaches to regenerative medicine

For each topic we will investigate the mechanisms of action, the principles of pharmacokinetics, the adverse effects of biologics and biotechnology drugs and the basis for their regulation.
